BODYWORK WITH ROOTED BIRTH

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) + Myofascial Release (MFR)

These are holistic, hands on, healing modalities involving light touch (fully clothed) to facilitate the body's natural and innate healing processes. These techniques, in complement to education regarding the nervous system and various stretches/releases to continue at home, are used as preventive health measures and for assisting people with a wide range of challenges associated with pain and dysfunction, including: Migraine Headaches, Chronic Neck and Back Pain, Nervous System Disorders, Fibromyalgia, TMJ, Immune Disorders, PTSD, Chronic Fatigue, Emotional Difficulties, orthopedic injury Stress and Tension-Related Problems, Colic, Pregnancy, Birth & Breastfeeding Struggles.

Growing a baby is a life altering  experience, mentally, emotionally and physically. Your body changes its entire posture and form to adapt to your baby! CST & MFR during pregnancy can help assist the freedom of movement and adaptation to the process of childbearing and childbirth and integration of the postpartum body.

We recommend Prenatal CST to all women who are preparing their bodies for birth at any time, and especially to assist things like: sciatica, sleep troubles, high stress pregnancies, women pregnant after previous birth trauma & well as women post traumatic birth, breech presentation of baby or other positional concerns, women preparing for a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), women who have experienced sexual assault and are preparing for birth, teeth grinding, and for any aches and pains.

A well balanced nervous system better navigates the transformation of motherhood.

PRENATAL + POSTNATAL

INFANT + NEWBORN

We most often see babies after their challenging or intense birth stories, like long labors with long pushing phases, fast, quick births from start to finish, alignments at birth creating bruising or added tension - such as a “sunny side up” baby (occiput posterior presentation) or other presentations like breech & more, as well as babies post surgical birth. These babies tend to share with their parents varied signs that they need hands on therapy- body work-, such as seeming uncomfortable- not wanting to be on their back, or clearly not liking being handled, refusal to breastfeed, inability to latch without on/off repetitions, other breastfeeding trouble like wounded nipples, breast preference, gagging and choking while feeding, sleep troubles, “colic”, lack of consistent stools, obvious misalignment of the physical body - o resulting in head shape issues or difficulty turning the head/neck or relaxing the body.
